Coronavirus Safety |House Hunting Tips |Real Estate Selling Tips During These Times
I know everybody seems to be in fear and in panic because of what is happening. I have been receiving a lot of calls/text messages from clients that are losing their jobs. Despite of the fears, life goes on, there are still folks who are buying and selling. I have some quick tips to share during these times when it comes to real estate. So what do we need to do to stay safe: For home buying—if you would like to take the advantage of the very low interest rates and are scared to view homes because of the possibility of the virus lingering, consider to hire an agent who will do a virtual tour for you. It can be a video, 3d tour or facebook live for the homes you are interested in. If you have decided a home you like, then want to actually view it in person, then make sure to follow strict health standards. Agents should screen their clients if they are ill or not feeling well. Protective masks, booties, sanitizers all should be worn at all times to protect not only yourself but the other party as well. If you have plans of selling during this season – make sure to require all buyers who are requesting to show to be preapproved. Second, DO NOT hold any open houses during these times. I only want to be honest that it is NOT in your best interest at the moment to do this. Consider hiring an agent who will provide a professional video of the property. Buyers who are interested in viewing and have not seen the property can view the professional video in the meantime. In this way, you are efficiently and effectively screening only the serious and qualified buyers. If after viewing the video and buyers are interested in actually seeing the property, consider providing an alcohol-based sanitizer at the entry way, disposable gloves, masks and shoe covers. By the way, I assist my clients and provide the shoe covers as incentive in listing with me. I also recommend for the sellers to open all lights, opening bedroom door handles so buyers can avoid touching it. After the showing, I recommend that the sellers clean and disinfect the home especially the commonly touch areas like door knobs, faucet handles, etc. By the way, feel free to download ALL my checklist. I have included the links below. Bottom line, we are all in this together and we need to support each other during these times. We hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Please take care of yourself and stay safe everyone.
