Last week, I shared with you that I noticed a significant number of views on my Best Spring Neighborhoods video, so I decided to create a more in-depth discussion about the four neighborhoods I mentioned in that video.

This week, accompany me to a 500-acre luxury golf course community located just south of The Woodlands at Gosling and West Rayford Road.

Now, on to our topic.
Peramco, Inc bought the land in which Auburn Lakes now stand from Wells Fargo in 1983. But it was not until May 2002 when they began developing the luxurious golf community. Located just 31 miles north of Houston and 8 miles south of The Woodlands, Auburn Lakes is home to several gated neighborhoods and golf-course communities.
It has 5 distinct sections: The Courts at Auburn Lakes is a gated community with 51 homesites. Home price range is between $412,000 to $525,000 with an HOA fee of $1800 to $2100. Auburn Lakes Estates is another gated community with 89 homesites. Homes in this area are generally expensive homes that are competitively priced between $725,000 to $1,195,000. HOA is anywhere between $650 to $1790. The Reserve is a non-gated section with 304 homesites valued between $322,000 to $401,000. Another non-gated section is The Retreat with 264 homesites valued between $384,000 to $480,000. And the last is The Pines. Also a non-gated neighborhood with 316 homesites valued between $249,000 to $353,000.
Most houses were built between 2001 and 2015 by a variety of builders including Lennar Homes, Imperial Homes, First Texas Homes, Gehan, Village Builders, David Weekley, Infinity Classic, Cannon Custom Homes, Croix Custom Homes, American Builders, Marshall Building, Meadowlark Homes and Brickland Homes. Thus giving homebuyers a number of design options to choose from – from french, traditional, and contemporary modern architectural styles.
However, if you are still not ready to own a home, Olympus Auburn Lakes and Landmark at Auburn Lakes offers apartments you can lease for as low as $942/mo for a single-bedroom apartment and as high as $1,923/mo for a 3-bedroom apartment. Both apartment complexes feature an upscale living with a resort-style array of amenities. It is pet friendly too!
Single-family homeowners can also enjoy luxurious comfort at the Auburn Lakes Recreation Center, a 6-acre leisure facility that includes a swimming pool, a splash pad, a playground, a fitness center and an event’s center where residents can host private parties. Fishing enthusiasts will surely love the stocked fishing lakes around the neighborhood. While fitness buffs will certainly take joy in walking, jogging, hiking or biking along the neighborhood’s trails and greenbelts.
Developed as a golf-course community, Auburn Lakes is home to Willow Creek Golf Club. An 18-hole private championship golf course created by noted designer Bruce Devlin. Its rolling terrain, natural water hazards and strategically-placed 56 bunkers make for an interesting play for golfers in every skill level. Willow Creek Golf Club offers an array of amenities from practice facilities to championship golf and even swimming. If ever you get hungry after a play of golf, head down at The Grill for a sumptuous lunch of delectable appetizers, oversized sandwiches, fresh salads and a selection of mouthwatering desserts.
Children of Auburn Lake’s residents attend the sought after Klein Independent School District with 32 elementary schools, 10 intermediate schools, and 5 high schools. This includes French Elementary School, located just outside the community’s entrance at West Rayford. It caters to students from Pre-kindergarten to Grade 5. Hildebrandt Intermediate School that caters to students from Gr 6 to Gr 9 is located just 3 miles south of the neighborhood. And just another mile farther south is Klein Oak High School that caters to Gr 9 to Gr 12. Private schools include Cunae International School, The Woodlands Preparatory International School and Paddington British Private School to name a few.
When it comes to shopping, dining and entertainment, Gosling road provides easy access to the Woodlands Parkway to the North and the Grand Parkway to the South for a quick commute to restaurants, entertainment and shopping centers such as The Home Depot, Target, The Grand Parkway Marketplace, Cinemark, Walmart Supercenter, Kroger, Walgreens and Sprouts Farmer’s Market. But if you do not feel like taking a 10-minute drive to Kuykendahl, a quick grocery shopping can be done at the nearby Harvest Market just outside the community.
Being near The Woodlands made Auburn Lakes a prime location and attractive to home buyers who would like to move closer to Houston and experience a luxurious living less the elevated home prices of The Woodlands.
